The event commemorated the 51^st anniversary since the last Phillies game at Connie Mack Stadium and the 50^th anniversary of the first season played at Veterans Stadium. Other notable sports stars included Bobby Shantz, former major league pitcher for the Philadelphia Athletics and Phillies.

The Radnor Hotel was delighted to be a part of the successful Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties 30th Anniversary Celebration Gala featuring special guests, Philadelphia Eagles Safety and Super Bowl Champion, Malcolm Jenkins, and Emmy Award-Winning Anchor and NBC 10 News Reporter, Rosemary Connors, on Thursday, April 18, 2019.

Supporters of Habitat for Humanity enjoyed a networking reception that included a delicious dinner, photo opportunities with the Eagles Star, and an abundance of chances to bid on silent and live auctions. An informative question-and-answer session with Malcolm Jenkins, emceed by Rosemary Connors, enlightened the group throughout the evening. Proceeds from the Gala support Habitat’s programs to build and repair homes, revitalize communities, and provide financial literacy education.

The Delaware County Press Club hosted their annual Holiday Luncheon with guest speaker, Steve Highsmith, at The Radnor Hotel on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Highsmith, who is a member of the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association Hall of Fame and a member of the Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame, gave an engaging speech about the history of the Philadelphia Mummers Parade while guests enjoyed The Radnor’s delicious buffet. James May, award-winning designer of thousands of costumes for the annual Mummers Parade on New Year’s Day, including the hat worn by Jason Kelce at the Super Bowl Parade, presented Highsmith with an “Official” 2018 Championship Hat – Collector’s Edition. May also donated a 2018 Championship Hat – Fan Favorite Edition to The Press Club’s scholarship fundraising raffle, which included several other prizes and gift baskets, to benefit students in the field of Communications in Delaware County Colleges!

Ms. Mylan has directed numerous films including the acclaimed feature-length documentary Lost Boys of Sudan, which raised millions of dollars for refugee scholarships. She won a 2008 Oscar for directing Smile Pinki, which focused on the highly-praised Smile Train Program of India. Ms. Mylan was visiting the Main Line while working on a new project.
